Faucets:
- Be gentle to your faucets. Turn them on and off using only normal hand pressure...
By taking care of them, they're more apt to last as long as you might like. - So you've got a new house and you think you have nothing to worry about...if only life were that easy! In new homes, dirt and metals are often still in the pipes and can damage faucet washers and cause leaks. To remedy the problem, keep some extra washers on hand and change them when necessary.
- No one likes a dirty faucet. So keep yours looking shiny and new by using a soft cloth with alcohol, glass cleaner, or vinegar and pay extra attention to your chrome fittings.
- Love the faucet, hate the scratches? If the lacquered finish on your brass faucets becomes chipped, coat them with clear nail polish to prevent rusting. And, keep them clean by using a mild detergent on lacquered brass faucets... and brass cream for un-lacquered brass faucets.
- If only my faucet washers would last forever...But alas, they don't. And so, when replacing faucet washers opt for ceramic disc valving...they come with a lifetime warranty!
